In a 2002 kids choice award video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOsxzBxpedg Josh Peck said 'Next Month we are shooting a Pilot for a show Drake & Josh' The Kids Choice Awards took Place in April 2002, Thus meaning the Pilot started shooting in May of 2002.
