Found on the Filmographie Fondation website, I found this summary "An old grognard who lost his head in the war of 1870 had a collection of wooden heads made, capable of rivaling those of a game of massacre. “What face will Monsieur put on this morning?” Monsieur puts on his old grumbler's head, which brings back the memory of his campaigns, which he washes down with small glasses of all colors... and his head beats the countryside! In a bellicose mood, he slays everything in his path and salutes the gaslights. On Sundays, he puts on his Sunday head, a restful head, and goes to sit in a public garden, with other amputees… and the little children unscrew their wooden heads and legs with which they play marbles."
