Tan Infinito Como el desierto (translated as As Infinite As The Dessert) was a Mexican TV mini-serie that aired on Tv Azteca in 2004, was transmitted only once from July 5th to July 16th on workdays at 10pm, produced by Genoveva Martinez and Tv Azteca as an attempt to address the large sum of feminicides that took place on the city of Juarez, Chihuahua at least since January 1991, commonly referred to as “Las Muertas de Juarez”. The series consisted of 10 episodes, each lasting one hour, following the history of Erika, a news reporter who, after the disappearance of the daughter of her nanny decides to investigate unravelling more similar cases.

Controversy It wasn´t well received at the time since it showed how the creation of snuff films and Satanism had been the likely origins of the violence, pointing as the primary suspects in these killings include sexual predators, a group of wealthy men and/or drug traffickers. It also caused controversy among the businessmen of Juarez because of the way it depicted the city and seemed to cause a lawsuit from the families of victims as they claim the image and names of real victims were show at some point in the series, all of this are assumed to be the cause that it has only been aired once. Nonetheless, in 2007, the show was distributed in the US as a DVD by Westlake Entertainment Group (Firm).

Availability Despite the distribution of the series, there are no episodes online and, although there are listings on Ebay of the DVD, no effort has been done to make the series available to everyone. There are some images published by the production company as well as the intro and an advertising spot for the premiere of the program.
