Eureeka's Castle (partially found Nick Jr. puppet series; 1989-1991)
Eureeka's Castle was a puppet show that premiered on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block from 1989 until 1991 (with a Christmas special having been released to VHS in 1995). It starred an "almost wizard" named Eureeka, a dragon named Magellan, a lovably arrogant bat named Batly, Quagmire and Bogge (the mischievous Moat Twins), three mice, a talking fish fountain, a giant, and more. It was also notable for Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine's extensive writing credits.
The majority of episodes are currently thought lost. Specific plot information about individual episodes — including correct episode order — remains spotty.
Paramount rereleased 26 episodes on Paramount Plus in 2021,[1] although due to a lack of known episode titles or production codes from during this series' original run, it's difficult to discern where the two dozen or so uncovered episodes officially fit into the list of approximately 155 episodes/specials. It can be assumed based on the Paramount Plus page (and the extensive use of clips from said 26 episodes on the two VHS specials recovered thus far) that the footage from these episodes is very likely originally from season one.
However, it has been deduced that the 26 episodes that Paramount Plus released may actually have been from season three,[2] a season which comprised special edits of footage from the first two seasons — sans a number of interstitial segments often not directly related to the core cast — which were ostensibly removed for licensing reasons. If this is indeed the case, Paramount Plus has not announced the release of the remaining 26 episodes from season three.
