Title card during the IBC 13 years

Status: Partially Found

Asin at Ilaw (transl. Salt and Light) is a 30-minute Filipino religious program co-produced by Good News Productions International and the group of Churches of Christ in the Philippines (1901) exclusively to Born-Again Christians, which is aired on RPN 9 from 1994 to 2007 and on IBC 13 from 2008 to 2011. It is hosted by Bro. Mel Maldalupan, Bro. Jo Orillza, Bro. Rodger Miguel and Bro. Danny Banngo[1]. It is the longest serving religious program in the Philippines for 16 years surpassing its contemporaries.

Information

Although the show is Bible-based, the first part of the show features a lesson with a reading of Bible verses along with dramatic scenes starring uncredited actors doing these scenes during these verses. The show also features musical performances in-between the lessons and the Q&A portion. The second part is a Q&A portion which features questions from its viewers.

The show aired on several networks, with the last one on IBC 13 from 2008 to 2011. The show aired every Saturday morning and its studio was RPN's Broadcast City Studio from 1994 to 2007 and at The Linden Suites in Pasig City from 2008 to 2011.

Availability

Some episodes of the shows were available on the web, primarily from its IBC 13 days, by easily searching it on YouTube. However, an episode from its RPN 9 days in 2004 was uploaded by the official Asin at Ilaw's Youtube page in February 2011.[2][3] On March 28th, 2024, YouTube user UndustFixation recently found a clip from the early RPN 9 years in 1994 as a snippet used in an on air promo by the said network[4]. As of 2024, certain episodes from RPN 9 days of 1994-2004 and 2005-2007 had not yet resurfaced.
