possible article: Grimes at Boiler Room in Ibiza, partially found recording of DJ set, 2013

category: lost recordings of real events, partially found media

In 2013, was invited to do a DJ set at Richie Hawtin's house party in Ibiza. The set, which she played from her iPod, reportedly consisted of mainstream pop music such as Taylor Swift, The Vengaboys, Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," and "Hamsterdance." The party, attended and viewed by many serious DJs, received serious backlash, accusing her of "trolling" and calling her song choices juvenile and insulting to the crowd.

Due to the backlash the set received, Boiler Room never released the full set.

Boiler Room released a clip of set where Boucher played "All I Want For Christmas Is You." The video shows Boucher and the party guests dancing and singing along to the music.

In 2020, in an interview with [i forget his name] she said that she hadn't meant for the set to be a "troll" and didn't think it would be taken so seriously. "I just thought... 'it's a beach party! It's a nice day...'"

untitled lost fourth album, grimes, 2014

In a now deleted message on curiouscat, Boucher's ex-partner Jaime Brooks said, "[Boucher] made art angels by herself, and she made 2-3 albums worth of additional stuff during that time period by herself that's at a similar level of quality."

Ros Serey Sothea was a Cambodian singer and actress. Despite her relatively brief career, she is said to have recorded hundreds of songs and appeared in 250 films - however, a good amount of her work was destroyed by the Khmer Rouge and is lost.
