African Skies is a drama show about 2 teenagers: 1 white, and 1 black teen living in a post-Apartheid South Africa. A kid named Rory lives with his mother, and his dad runs a clinic far away. This makes the kids go through a lot of various wild adventures while unintentionally putting themselves into jeopardy or trouble.

Availability

There are only 4 episodes that survived: 2 being found in Series 1, which are "Wild Child" and "The Rainmaker", and 1 & 1/2 being found in Series 2: "The One Who Got Away (Spanish Dubbed)" and "Diamonds Aren't Forever". The show is also dubbed in French, Spanish, and English. A user on Reddit named r/darkoneisrising has found a selling on eBay, but has now been sold out. On May 15th, 2024, a YouTuber by the name of "Freelight's Lost and Found" has gotten 3 more lost episodes.

On June 10th, 2024, the actor for Rory in the series had sent a VHS to the YouTuber Freelight Lost and Found episodes of the series. The actor claims that they had send most of the episodes from the series namely "Romeo and Jambele", "Wildlife", "Rites of Passage", and "Cruel to Be Kind". These episodes have not been uploaded to the YouTuber's account as of June 2024.

On August 8 2024 -- Freelight says he has digitzed half the tapes, and is getting ready to work on the second half very soon. As of the 8th, Simon confirmed he was finally able to get ahold of the executive producer of the series Seaton McLean, who gave the go ahead to post the series on YouTube, so they are working on creating a new channel and gearing up to post the entire series on YouTube right now.

An African Skies official account has been made on YouTube by Freelight Lost and Found. The whole series has been digitalized and is now going to be released on YouTube for everyone to see.
