African Skies (partially found Family Channel drama series; 1992-1994)

African Skies is a drama show about 2 teenagers: 1 white, and 1 black teen living in a post-Apartheid South Africa. A kid named Rory lives with his mother, and his dad runs a clinic far away. This makes the kids go through a lot of wild adventures while unintentionally putting themselves in jeopardy or trouble.

On May 15th, 2024, Up until now, there was only 4 episodes that survived: 2 being found in Series 1, which are "Wild Child" and "The Rainmaker", and 1 & 1/2 are found in Series 2: "The One Who Got Away (Spanish Dubbed)" and "Diamonds Aren't Forever". The show is also dubbed in French, Spanish, and English. A user on Reddit named r/darkoneisrising found a sale on eBay but it has now been sold out. A YouTuber by the name of "Freelight's Lost and Found" was the purchaser and put the episodes from this tape on YouTube.

On June 10, 2024, Freelight confirmed contact with the the actor who played Rory in the series and said he sent the first half (26) of the VHS tapes to him and they are working out the details on getting it posted online.

On August 8, 2024, Freelight confirmed the actor was finally able to contact the executive producer of the series Seaton McLean, who gave the go-ahead to upload the series to YouTube. An official account for African Skies has been created and the entire series will be showcased on YouTube.
