Not to be confused with its contemporaneous cousin Denver The Last Dinosaur, Dink The Little Dinosaur was an American animated series that aired from 1989-1991 (and longer in syndication) in various worldwide markets. It was a co-production of Ruby-Spears and Hanna-Barbera and centred around Dink the Brontosaurus and his friends exploring their prehistoric landscape and imparting moralistic life lessons. (The episodes also had a final segment called 'Factasaurus', which would tell dinosaur trivia to its audience.)

Running for two seasons (a total of 42 segments over 21 episodes), Dink The Little Dinosaur arguably rode on the wave of 'dino-mania' current at the time, following the success of Don Bluth's The Land Before Time. (IMDB only accounts for eight episodes of Dink The Little Dinosaur,[1] presumably those that are available on VHS.)

Several episodes of the TV show were edited into two straight-to-video movies: one named Dink The Little Dinosaur (1989); the other named Land of No Return (1994). These specials were only ever released on VHS, with a handful of the TV episodes (mostly in the US)[2] also seeing a home release. However, there is no DVD release for either the original TV series or the two made-for-video movies, and scant footage of either on YouTube in the original English dub.

The show was broadcast as late as 2001 on the UK Boomerang channel.[3]
