Curbside was an unsuccessful pilot created by Nickelodeon in 1999. It was an Animated Anthology focusing on revamped versions of Terrytoons characters, the framing device consisting of a talk show hosted by Heckle and Jeckle. The main story's plot consisted of Heckle and Jeckle falling victim to a cursed scarecrow, with three segments set between this conflict consisting of Deputy Dawg and Muskie Muskrat trying to arrest Vincent Van Gopher, Sidney the Elephant being tasked with protecting the jungle from a giant rock about to fall, and Mighty Mouse making sure no one threatens his buddy Tom Terrific.

The cast consisted of Charlie Adler as Vincent Van Gopher, Dee Bradley Baker as Mighty Mouse, Dinky Duck, and Sidney, Bobcat Goldthwait as Jeckle, Toby Huss as Heckle, Haley Joel Osment as Tom Terrific, Rob Paulsen as Muskie Muskrat and Cleo, and Billy West as Deputy Dawg and Stanley.

Tropes present in this pilot: Adaptational Dumbass: Muskie Muskrat is made a bumbling moron, when he was frequently shown to be clever in outsmarting Deputy Dawg in The Deputy Dawg Show. Adaptational Heroism: In The Deputy Dawg Show, Muskie Muskrat had no qualms causing trouble for Deputy Dawg even while palling around with him. Here, he's Deputy's loyal sidekick whose only fault is being an inept fool. Adaptational Intelligence: Deputy Dawg isn't nearly as bumbling and gullible as he was in The Deputy Dawg Show, his ineptitude here being due to misfortune rather than making poor decisions or being easily deceived. Adaptational Wimp: Tom Terrific doesn't show any signs of having shape-changing abilities and is also a lot less brave than his original incarnation. Adaptation Species Change: Curiously, Heckle and Jeckle are said to be crows rather than magpies, though they don't look too different from their usual depictions. Adapted Out: Tom Terrific's canine companion Mighty Manfred is absent. Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: The Deputy Dawg segment depicts Muskie Muskrat and Vincent Van Gopher as purple and green respectively. Animated Actors: The pilot ends with Heckle and Jeckle throwing a wrap-up party with the other characters in celebration of completing their first episode. They remove their featherless forms as if they were costumes and have the monstrous scarecrow tormenting them among their guests when this is revealed. Animated Anthology: The cartoon is essentially an anthology show for revamped Terrytoons cartoons. Conscience Makes You Go Back: Stanley, Cleo, and the short hippo at first try to leave the jungle and have Sidney alone in handling the rock about to fall, but Cleo has a change of heart and insists they go back to help Sidney. Continuity Cameo: The Mighty Heroes appear as a band playing on Heckle and Jeckle's talk show. Curse Cut Short: Jeckle at one point remarks about the scarecrow curse being "bull-" before cutting himself off. Dirty Coward: In the Sidney the Elephant segment, Stanley the Lion admits that he's unwilling to help Sidney in stopping the unbalanced rock because he's a coward. Disney Villain Death: Implied. When Jeckle and Dinky Duck stop reading the Mighty Mouse story, the villain the Creeper is last seen losing his balance in a way that suggests he's about to fall to his death. Scary Scarecrows: The framing device's plot has Heckle and Jeckle molting and becoming decrepit because of a cursed scarecrow being given to them. In the end, the scarecrow gets larger and tries to eat them. Shut Up, Hannibal!: Sidney the Elephant tells the representation of his fear taunting him to shut up as he pushes on to stop the rock from falling onto the village near the jungle. Trademark Favorite Food: Heckle and Jeckle love string cheese in this continuity.
