Bandai Super Musical: Saint Seiya (バンダイスーパーミュージカル 聖闘士星矢) is a musical based on the popular manga Saint Seiya by Masami Kurumada, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1986.
The performance was sponsored by Bandai and TV Asahi and ran from August 15 to September 1, 1991. The main characters were played by the current Japanese national idol group SMAP, which had only been in existence for about three years at the time. The role of the Gold Saints was played by the Japanese pop band Tokio.
The stage play was staged at the Aoyama Theater in Shibuya, Tokyo, and was reportedly a huge success, drawing a total of 32,700 spectators[1], but the Internet has described this stage play as one of the most embarrassing events in SMAP's history.

Availability
After the performance, no VHS, DVD, or other physical release documenting the play was made.
The performance was introduced in a special variety program, smap☆ganbarimasu!! (SMAP☆がんばりますっ!!) a special variety show aired on April 2, 2011, and it is known that a videotape of the performance exists, some of which has been made public. In the smap☆ganbarimasu!! program we had saw Japanese film producer and Dwango co executive officer, Yoshiro Kataoka was seen in this program giving a copy of the musical to a Tv Asahi worker.
There is testimony that the stage play was once broadcast via satellite[2][3], but details on which network and when it was broadcast are not available, and no video recordings of the show have surfaced online.
