{{InfoboxFound |title=
Blaster's Universe
|image=Blasters_Universe_3725.jpg |imagecaption=Fan art by spacekadet75 @Deviantart |status='''Found''' |datefound=Nov 2013 |foundby=[http://bellmedia.ca Bell Media] }} '''''Blaster's Universe''''' is an American/Chinese/Canadian animated television series based on the ''Blaster Learning System'' computer games made by Knowledge Adventure. The series was produced by Nelvana,<ref>[https://m.ranker.com/list/tv-shows-produced-by-michael-hirsh/reference A website that has a list of TV shows produced by Michael Hirsh, including ''Blaster's Universe''.] Retrieved 12 Jun '19</ref> running for a single 13-episode season from September 1999 to January 2000 on CBS and Teletoon.<ref>[https://isbnsearch.org/isbn/9781538103739 ''The Encyclopedia of American Animated Television Shows''. Rowman & Littlefield. pp. 84β85] Retrieved 15 Oct '20</ref> ==Plot== The main characters are Max Blaster (voiced by Jonathan Wilson), a 12-year-old Earth boy; GC (voiced by Maryke Hendrikse), a 12-year-old alien girl from the planet Omega; and MEL (voiced by Juan Chioran), Blaster and GC's robotic dog (his name is an abbreviation of "Mechanically Enhanced Lapdog"). The episodes follow their adventures as they try to save the universe from intergalactic villains. It was based on the Blaster Learning System universe, as it was reimagined in the late 1990s. The show is in continuity with other games of the era, such as Math Blaster Ages 5β7. ==Findings== After the show was cancelled, it fell into obscurity, and the episodes never saw the light of day for nearly a decade and a half. No reruns have aired in North America, not even on Qubo (which Nelvana/Corus Entertainment owned a stake in), and it didn't even get a DVD release, though it did a rerun on the now-defunct international kids' channel KidsCo (also partially owned by Nelvana/Corus). In November 2013, the episodes with Russian dub voiceovers talking over the English dialogue were found and uploaded to YouTube. However, the full English versions of the episodes are available on Bell Media's website via paid video streaming. ==List of Found Episodes (with Russian Dubbing)== {|class="wikitable" style="text-align:center" |- ! style="background-color:lightblue" | # ! style="background-color:lightblue" | Episode Name ! style="background-color:lightblue" | Status |- |1||You're History||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep01-YoureHistory.mp4'''Found'''] |- |2||A Bridge Too Weak||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep02-ABridgeTooWeak.mp4'''Found'''] |- |3||Misplaced Weekend||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep03-MisplacedWeekend.mp4'''Found'''] |- |4||A Spot of Trouble||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep04-ASpotOfTrouble.mp4'''Found'''] |- |5||Uncool Copycat||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep05-UncoolCopycat.mp4'''Found'''] |- |6||Mind Over Manners||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep06-MindOverManners.mp4'''Found'''] |- |7||Body Electric||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep07-BodyElectric.mp4'''Found'''] |- |8||Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep08-HeroTodayGoneTomorrow.mp4'''Found'''] |- |9||Sound Advice||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep09-SoundAdvice.mp4'''Found'''] |- |10||Math Schmath||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep10-MathSchmath.mp4'''Found'''] |- |11||Nowhere to Hide||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep11-NowhereToHide.mp4'''Found'''] |- |12||Gym Nausium||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep12-GymNausium.mp4'''Found'''] |- |13||Buggin' Out||[https://archive.org/details/BlastersUniverse/Ep13-BugginOut.mp4'''Found'''] |} == See Also == * [[The Sticklers (lost pitch pilot of 'Stickin' Around' Nelvana animated series; early 1990s)]] * [[Ned's Newt (partially found pilot episode of Nelvana animated series; 1997)]] * [[Small Star Cinema (lost series of Nelvana live action/animated shorts; 1974-1975)]] * [[Stickin' Around (partially found pre-series shorts of Nelvana animated series; 1994)]] ==External Links== *[http://nelvana.com/show/49/blasters-universe Nelvana website on the show.] Retrieved 12 Jun '19 *[https://imdb.com/title/tt0221026/ IMDb page on ''Blaster's Universe''.] Retrieved 12 Jun '19 *[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/BlastersUniverse TVTropes page on ''Blaster's Universe''.] Retrieved 12 Jun '19 *[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaster%27s_Universe Wikipedia page on ''Blaster's Universe''.] Retrieved 12 Jun '19 *[https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLO6x7JXf8iCmpyWxvCwL38vffwa08eidN English dubs w/o Russian voice-over for Episodes 2, 3, 4 and 6.] Retrieved 18 Apr '20 ==References== {{reflist}} [[Category:Found media]] [[Category:Found animation]]
