I tried to track the original author down, the author goes by K, Kyte, or yonglan, and found that 3 new homepages were set up after the first one which hosted the game (http://kyte.co/, http://yonglan.tw/f, http://eternal.blue/) , however the last time K was online on was in Sep 2019 on eternal.blue . It is possible that the author is still active on other platforms, however I have yet to confirm it.
Regarding the game itself, on Oct 11 2013 a guest by the name of "BigOshowtime" commented on the guestbook of kyte.co asking if there would be a remake of TW2001, to which K responded in Jan 1 2019 "probably not XD."
