I think this is a misunderstanding of the tweet. Way I see it, he's mocking the person in the image for doubting his story that "some people made some jokes." The joke part is in reference to the alternate endings themselves, not his tweet about them.
So basically like "I don't understand why I'd lie about people making joke animations."
