{{InfoboxFound |title=<center>Smash Mouth (Old Habits)</center> |image=Old Habits (Smash Mouth).jpg |imagecaption=The album's cover |status=<span style="color:green;">'''Found'''</span> |datefound=23 Apr 2020 |foundby=Darlene }} Smash Mouth is an American ska-punk band that was formed in 1994 by lead singer Steve Harwell, drummer Kevin Coleman, guitarist Greg Camp and bassist Paul De Lisle. The band is best know for their hits "Walking On The Sun", a cover of The Monkees' "I'm A Believer" and most famously "All Star", the latter of which was used in the films Mystery Men and Shrek. The band went through several lineup changes since their formation with the most prominent member being De Lisle and the band continues to perform live and release new music. ==History== In January 2005, the band announced that they were recording their fifth album and listed several songs expected to appear on the album including "Beside Myself", "Quality Control", "Killer Bees", "Duty Free" and "Back Pocket"<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050112094031/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref> with other song titles announced in the following months including "The Crawl", "Hey L.A.", "Getaway Car", "Old Habits", "Stop Gettin' Low"<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050208062944/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref> and "Sugar"<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050304030124/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref>. In May 2005, they announced on their website that the title of the album will be Old Habits with a planned release in the Summer of 2005<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050509075410/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref>. The tracklist for the album was also revealed on the discography page of their website<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050630234542/http://www.smashmouth.com/disco.html</ref>. However, it was postponed to the holiday season of the same year<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050731232555/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref>. The band performed the planned first single "Getaway Car" during an appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly that September<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20050901080036/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref>. After the performance, the album was delayed again to "January or February 2006"<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20051013083001/http://www.smashmouth.com:80/</ref>, likely due to Steve Harwell's commitment to the VH1 reality show The Surreal Life and Harwell later stating that the album "wasn't perfect"<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20081230151924/http://www.sheknows.com/articles/7888.htm</ref>. A compilation album The Gift of Rock was released in the Holiday season in 2005 to make up for the delay of Old Habits. The album again missed its planned release dates and following The Surreal Life's run from March 19th to May 14th, 2006, the band returned to the studio to record a whole new album of material (along with some songs from Old Habits), the album would later become Summer Girl and would get released in September 2006 and Old Habits was shelved<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20081230151924/http://www.sheknows.com/articles/7888.htm</ref>. ==Availability== Aside from the tracks reused or remixed for Summer Girl, the album has never been released. "Duty Free", "Beside Myself", and a cover of Depeche Mode's "Never Let Me Down Again" were released on the band's SoundCloud in 2016. "Baby Please Don't Go" would appear on guitarist Greg Camp's solo album Defektor which was released in September 2008. The original versions of "Hey L.A." and "The Crawl" were featured in ad campaigns in 2005. The known tracks that were later remixed in Summer Girl are "Hey L.A.", "Getaway Car", and "The Crawl". It is unknown if "Quality Control" and "Beautiful Bomb" were remixed. In June 2020, Reddit user u/itsgallus discovered that the band's label Spirit Music Group released short snippets of the band's songs on their label's website (including the ones from Old Habits that have never been heard)<ref>https://reddit.com/r/lostmedia/comments/h7gyqr/smash_mouths_unreleased_album_old_habits_update/</ref>. However, earlier that year on April 23rd, Discord user Darlene uploaded a zip folder containing the unreleased tracks to the LMW Discord Server. However, it went unnoticed until October 22nd, 2022. ==Songs== {| class="wikitable" |- ! # !! Song Titles !! Status !!
