Pinky Dinky Doo is an animated show created by Jim Jinkins (also known for creating Doug, PB&J Otter, and Stanley). The show was produced by Sesame Workshop and premiered in 2005. Before the show was greenlit, two 11-minute pilot episodes were made in 2002.[1]
Compared to the final series, the pilots' animation style was much rougher. According to Animation World Network, Jim Jinkins first created the character of Pinky Dinky Doo in 2000.[2] By October 2002, two 11-minute pilots had been fully completed.[1] A full season of episodes was planned to be completed sometime in 2003;[1] this did not end up happening, and the show would not make its official premiere until 2005.
The first pilot episode followed a storyline about Pinky Dinky Doo losing her shoes. This plot was later reworked and fully reanimated as an episode of the main series, "Where Are My Shoes?." The plot of the second pilot is unknown.
