Pocket Monsters XY: Uchū no Hahen (ポケットモンスターXY 宇宙の破片, translates to Pocket Monsters XY: Celestial Debris) is an anime film from the Pokémon series. It was only shown in planetariums in Japan, being projected on the domed ceiling. It is the fifth of such shorts. In this short, Ash and friends visit a space organization called PAXA. Team Rocket breaks in and takes over the facility, causing problems with the satellite defense system. Space debris is hurdling toward the satellite, which will cause debris to surround the planet and prevent mankind from ever reaching space again.
The film is fully animated, featuring traditionally-animated characters on CGI-rendered backgrounds. It was screened at several planetariums in Japan at different times, the earliest being July 12, 2014 and the latest being September 7, 2014. It was never screened again after that date. It hasn't been seen since its initial run. Some footage is available to the public, as a trailer was uploaded to YouTube.
