The Messengers was a short-lived reality show that aired on TLC briefly between the months of July and August in 2006. Premiering on July 23rd[1], it lasted for a single season containing a total of six known episodes.
Premise
The series had showcased ten different motivational speakers from varying perspectives and backgrounds from all around the United States. Each episode would begin with the speakers going on a weekly 'field trip'. The trips would be designed to give the speakers the opportunity to 'walk in someone else's shoes."
These trips would range from the reality of homelessness in the city of Los Angeles, to living as a blind or wheelchair-bound individual, or on a farm as a migrant worker.
Over the next 24 hours, the speakers would use their experiences whilst on the trip and their general life lessons to give a motivational speech to a studio audience.
After each speech is delivered, the two judges and public-speaking experts Richard Greene and Bobby Schuller would critique the speech and give constructive commentary to the speaker.
At the end of every episode, one speaker would be eliminated by the studio audience's vote. The remaining speaker at the end of the series would be crowned "The Messenger", and awarded a publishing deal and the opportunity to host their own TLC special[1].

Despite being labeled as an eight-part series[1], only the titles and status of the first six episodes are known. It is unknown whether or not the seventh and eighth episodes were produced, aired, or even went into production.
It is also unknown if reruns were ever aired after the series was presumably cancelled, or even during the series' run.
