The Three Stooges (lost build of cancelled Game Boy Color port of game; 2000)
The Three Stooges is a game that was originally released for Amiga in 1987 by Cinemaware based on the comedy act of the same name. It was released on multiple other platforms such as the NES and Commodore 64.
A Game Boy Color port was also going to be released,[1], and was even reviewed by IGN on October 20th 2000. They praised the faithfulness of the Amiga to Game Boy Color conversion and the lack of load times, which is natural considering the handheld uses cartridges as opposed to floppy disks. They also released three video clips and several screenshots.
Cancellation
Cinemaware Inc, a company who acquired the rights to the old company's games and intellectual company, said that the game was finished and that all they needed was a publisher. Unfortunately, they didn't find one, perhaps due to the looming release of the Game Boy Advance, which saw a poorly-received conversion of the 1987 Amiga game.
Availability
The whereabouts of the Game Boy Color version are unknown, but it might be in the hands of Starbreeze Studios, who acquired Cinemaware Inc.'s assets. in 2016
