The game's logo.

Status: Lost

Yung Rappa was a game created by Adidas to promote their Yung shoes that were released in Fall of 2018. The game was a simple rhythm game that could be played on the Yung website for free. When the website was taken down somewhere in 2020, the game also went with it. Barely any information about the game exists online anymore, and the game has not been found, and is currently not playable.

Background

In October of 2018, Adidas made a new website to promote their Yung shoe lineup, a lineup of shoes that are reprints of Adidas's old shoes from the 90s. The website in question looked like a website created through GeoCities, as it is complete with a lot of gifs and over-the-top animations, and text fonts. An advergame could also be played through the website, which was called Yung Rappa. The game was a simple HTML5 rhythm game that could be played through the website for free. When the website was removed somewhere in 2020, the game was removed, and all Yung Rappa links on the Adidas Yung site were deleted, rendering the game unplayable.

Availability

The game is currently not playable in any capacity, and very little information about the game exists online anymore, making any new information very hard to find. The only remaining information about the game are a sleuth of news articles about the Yung site and the corresponding game that went alongside it, and a portfolio for an artist who worked on the game's logo. A company named MediaMonks also has ties to this as it is mentioned by the same artist, so it is very likely that contacting them could result in the game being found. The Wayback Machine has also not archived the game, and any attempts to locate the game through the Wayback Machine would be brought to a hault with it saying it couldn't find a URL, and doing a URL search for anything related to 'rappa' or 'game' in the URLs link on the Wayback Machine would bring up nothing. For now, this game is completely lost, and probably will remain lost until someone comes forward with the game.
