Bananas in Pyjamas is an Australian children's television show that ran between the 20th of July 1992 to the 14th of December 2001 on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's television network. It was about the adventures of two anthropomorphic bananas named 'B1' and 'B2', three teddy bears named 'Amy', 'Morgan', and 'Lulu', and a rat named 'Rat in the Hat' in their home on Cuddles Avenue. It has aired in many countries around the world and has been dubbed in many languages.
History
While most of the series has been uploaded and readily available since 2021, two episodes have not surfaced anywhere online, and this pertains to episodes 162 "Self Serve" and 198 "Odd Socks". Both of these episodes aired during the fourth season of the show in 1996 with Self Serve airing on October 29th, 1996 and the episode "Odd Socks" airing on December 18th, 1996. While it is unknown how long the episodes were re-aired, Odd Socks, however, had re-aired as late as 2005 on ABC TV according to a TV guide. [1]
Availability
Neither Odd Socks or Self Serve were released on home media in any form. However, two photos exist from each episode indicating someone had these episodes at some point. Given that the series had multiple reruns and aired during a time when a majority of households would have had some sort of recording device, it is most likely that home video recordings of these episodes exist. As of October 2023, these episodes have not resurfaced in any form..
