Bless This House is a short-lived American sitcom created by Bruce Helford that aired on CBS from September 11, 1995 to Janurary 17, 1996, lasting only 16 episodes. The show starred controversial stand-up comedian Andrew Dice Clay and was intended to be a mainstream crossover for Clay. The show was not a remake of the 70s British sitcom despite sharing the same name. The series followed postal worker Bob Clayton (Andrew Dice Clay) and his wife Alice (Cathy Moriarty) trying to raise a family in a small New Jersey apartment with their two children, Danielle "Danny" (Raegon Kotz) and Sean (Sam Gifaldi), all while having to deal with their goal of buying a large house.
The show received mixed to poor critical reception especially in regards to having Clay, a comedian infamous for his misogynistic and homophobic material, for being the lead in a family sitcom.[1][2] It was also compared unfavorably to The Honeymooners, with reviewers criticizing it for being an apparent ripoff.[3] In 2002, it was listed by TV Guide as one of the worst TV shows of all time. The show never received any home video releases, with only one complete episode being found online, alongside a partially complete episode.
