Boom! is an American Adaptation of the Israeli game show of the same name airing from June 25th, 2015, to August 21st, 2016, on the Fox network. Boom! was hosted by comedian Tom Papa, and had the premise of a team of 3 contestants cutting wires on a bomb to answer trivia questions. The more money the questions are worth, the higher the number of wires and wrong answers.

Rounds

There are 7 rounds in total:

  • Round 1 is worth 5,000 dollars, has 30 seconds on the countdown, and has 4 wires with 1 wrong answer.
  • Round 2 is worth 10,000 dollars, has 30 seconds on the countdown, and has 4 wires with 1 wrong answer.
  • Round 3 is worth 15,000 dollars, has 30 seconds on the countdown, and has 4 wires with 1 wrong answer.
  • Round 4 is worth 20,000 dollars, has 40 seconds on the countdown, and has 5 wires with 1 wrong answer.
  • Round 5 is worth 25,000 dollars, has 50 seconds on the countdown, and has 6 wires with 1 wrong answer.
  • Round 6 is worth 50,000 dollars, has 60 seconds on the countdown, and has 7 wires with 1 wrong answer.
  • Round 7 (aka Mega Money Bomb) multiplies the amount of money you win by 4, has 90 seconds on the countdown, and has 10 wires with 3 wrong answers.
The 7 Rounds of Boom!

If a contestant cuts the wrong wire, the bomb will explode, spraying the player, the host, and the audience, with whatever food was in the bomb, (ie: Alfredo Sauce, Wedding Cake, Pesto, etc.) and the contestant is out. If all 3 contestants make a bomb explode, the team is out and goes home with nothing. Boom has an hour runtime per episode so the episode will often have more than one team in it. The maximum amount of money one player can win on the show is 500,000 dollars by defusing all of the bombs.

The show had 10 episodes, and used to all be available on the Fox website.
