it's sad that this exists at all

it makes me really sad that this exists. that it's such a normal thing for palestinians to be killed in such sudden awful ways, for palestinian children to be traumatized, that it's incorporated into this children's show, which should be something that makes children feel safe.

and i hate that they've been terrorized by people who claim to represent judaism, to the point where they refer to their occupiers and attackers as "the jews." obviously that's going to cause antisemitism (and obviously, to people with different lived experiences looking at this article, some of these quotes definitely come off as antisemitic - unfortunately i imagine for a lot of palestinians "jews" has been forced as a synonym for "israelis" and "zionists")

that being said, i'm not opposed to the remaining episodes being found. i personally don't think i have the emotional fortitude to help with that, but i think having this show preserved, as tragic and disturbing as it may end up being, will offer insight on both palestinian history and what life is like in the current time for palestinians (especially children). it might also be interesting to kearn more about the process behind making the show, though i think that might be too upsetting for me to think too much about.

hopefully episodes can be found with translations from an unbiased source - from what i've heard, memri tv is a very racist and islamophobic program using clips from majority non-white countries (particularly the SWANA region, which would include palestine) with the goal of pushing the propaganda that they're a backwards, terrorist, savage society. so i imagine their translations might be exaggerated, to say the least, in some instances. (in fact, i saw this in more detail in a previous version of this article in the edit history, so i'm wondering why that was removed...was it too opinionated?)
