Interesting Finds

Over the past two months, I’ve made some interesting finds concerning Circle 7. First, I’ve found an eBay listing for a crew jacket belonging to one of the original employees which is adorned with what I assume is Circle 7’s logo. Secondly, Jim Hill, a Disney insider who’s hosted his blog for over 20 years, held a podcast with Bob Hilgenberg, one of the writers of “Lost in Scaradise”, to discuss the history and aftermath of Circle 7 Animation. I’d highly recommend checking it out in the link below, as he describes a lot about what the studio was like, some of the employees involved with the studio, and a few details concerning the stories behind their cancelled projects. An important aspect he mentions is the fact that the films were planned to be theatrical releases, NOT DIRECT-TO VIDEO. The title of this article should likely be changed to correct that. I’ve also found Bob on Twitter and asked if he could share more about MI2, to which he replied by saying he’d said he’d try to share more on Twitter. He did mention in the podcast that he’s very protective of his scripts, so I would advise against bothering or harassing him to release details.
