I looked at the reference, and the sentence "永野監督は「絶対円盤（DVD）にはならないからね！」と改めて宣言し、会場からは笑いが起きていた。" seemed to specify DVD. Also, Ultra HD Blu-ray (which supports 4K) exists, and so do Dolby Atmos 9.2.4 Channel speaker sets (all be it $1000+ USD a pop). Even 4K streaming is a thing (which is a no-brainer, due in part to COVID-19).
To make a long story short, Nagano refuses to have Gothicmade on DVD. Just wait for the 10th anniversary of Gothicmade before even wondering about an Ultra HD Blu-ray release (2022 will probably see Dolby Atmos 9.2.4 Channel speaker sets for under $1,000 USD a pop).
