Good scripts. A lot of similarities.
I've read both scripts, they're fun. Though Who Discovered Roger Rabbit? reuses a lot of stuff from The Toon Platoon, including the sequence with Roger and his adopted family, Roger renting the apartment for he and his human sidekick right down to them looking out the window and seeing how close they are to Toontown, and...Jessica seducing the villain in an EXTREMELY questionable sequence. Honestly, I personally enjoyed Toon Platoon more, but I would've watched either movie had the prequel been made. I read somewhere that another prequel idea they were throwing around was a remake of the 1951 Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis buddy comedy The Stooge, but with Roger and Mickey Mouse.
I can't help but wonder though...why were they so bent on making a prequel? I mean, Roger Rabbit is a great character, but does he really need an origin story? Like I said, I definitely would've watched Who Discovered or Toon Platoon, but personally I would prefer a sequel that moves Roger's story forward.
