Just a theory of the deleted scenes

This is just what I think with deleting the scary scenes with how with in 1985 with the flop of The Black Cauldron that they could've been afraid that if this was rated PG it would've been a flop a lot of the PG animated movies from the 70s and 80s mostly flopped at the box office with some gaining fan followings years later like Watership Down (1978), Wizards (1977), Fantastic Planet, Rock and Rule, Starchaser: The Legend Of Orin, and Fire and Ice. That's just theory I came up with for the deleted scenes because I think they'd be afraid of another Black Cauldron result. I would say that The Nightmare Before Christmas was the first very successful PG animated movie and pretty much 95% of theatrical movies nowadays (both live action and animation) are rated PG or higher. Again that's just what I came up with for the deleted scenes of this and maybe why they got discarded.
