From what's been gathered so far:

  • DigMedia claim to have a black and white video tape of the entire program (although it is unclear how much of the special was actually filmed).
  • The video was originally recorded by John Lennon's friend Jack Henry Moore. Moore was gifted the video equipment by Lennon.
  • DigMedia acquired Moore's video archive, which the special was on one of the tapes.
  • The video may have either been recorded via a directed off-air feed or via a telecine method (pointing a camera at a TV screen).
  • It was recorded on an obsolete reel to reel video format.
  • Dealing with obsolete reel to reel video formats is a time consuming process. If you don't have the original machine the video was recorded on, the picture can loose sync very easily. Meaning you have to capture sections at a time.
  • So far the segments that have been captured are: Come Together, Something and part of Maxwell's Silver Hammer.
