To my knowledge, there hasn't been any official statement on it, but if they did, I could most likely see them releasing it through Rare Replay DLC like they recently did with Goldeneye. No idea how likely it is but considering games like Star Fox 2 ended up getting released two decades after getting canceled, you never know.
