Introduction: "Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja" is a dungeon crawler rpg video game for the Nintendo DS developed by Success and Ninja Studio released in Japan in 2006, and in the United States and Europe in 2007. Izuna the Unemployed Ninja would receive a sequel a year later titled "Izuna 2: the Unemployed Ninja Returns". Izuna alongside another main character, Shino would appear in future games developed by Success and Ninja Studio such as "Windy X Windam" and "Rondo of Swords". The Izuna characters would not have any future appearances until a sequel was revealed in 2023 for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Comics: To promote the releases of the first two games, web comics would be released on the Izuna websites. These webcomics used assets from the games such as character portraits and backgrounds, emulating the look of cutscenes from the games. The comics would feature the characters interacting in comedic and sometimes meta ways.

The Lost Comics: Although some comics from the Izuna 2 website have been successfully archived, many remain lost. Later comics from "Wandering Vendor to "The End" are only known through their titles, with the contents of the comics becoming inaccessible.
