Kaiketsu Zorori is a Japanese popular children's book series created by Yutaka Hara from 1987 to the present. The series ran for three animated TV series in 2004, 2005, and 2020, but the first animated adaptation of the series began earlier, with an OVA in 1989.

Overview

The adapted for OVA were the first three works in the book series Kaiketsu Zorori no Dragon Taiji (Kaiketsu Zorori, the Dragon Slayer), Kaiketsu Zorori no Kyōfu no Yakata (Kaiketsu Zorori and the Terrifying Mansion), Kaiketsu Zorori no Mahōtsukai no Deshi (Kaiketsu Zorori and the Wizard's Apprentice). The animation was produced by Ryu Production and released by Amada Printing MFG on November 28.

Availability

The OVA has not been released on DVD since its release and is currently out of print. Only Mahōtsukai no Deshi is available online, but the other two are still unavailable. Dragon Taiji was once sold online at the used hobby store Suruga-ya, but is out of stock[1].

  • In 1990, production of second volume Kaiketsu Zorori no Daikaizoku (Kaiketsu Zorori and the Great Pirates), Kaiketsu Zorori no Yūreisen (Kaiketsu Zorori and the Ghost Ship), and Kaiketsu Zorori no Chocolate-jō (Kaiketsu Zorori and the Chocolate Castle), was announced, but cancelled.
