Kot Kaboom (Kaboom The Cat) was a Polish animated series produced by Catmood Animations in 2007 for 4fun.TV[1][2].
Background
4fun.TV is a Polish music and entertainment TV channel owned by Polsat Television, one of the biggest Polish television companies. Before 2023 it was owned by 4Fun Media. The network has been airing since 2004.
From 2004 to 2010 4Fun.TV used to air a programming block with short animated series aimed at teenagers and young adults called Kartony (Cartons). The most popular shows aired on this block were made by GIT Produkcja, such as Kapitan Bomba (Captain Bomb) which has a cult following in Poland, or Generał Italia (Italia The General). However, some Kartony shows were produced by Catmood Animations, although they weren't as popular as GIT Produkcja's series and they were disliked by many viewers.
Some of the animated series made by Catmood were Robot Chrobot and Kot Kaboom.
Premise
The show had no dialogue and each episode lasted for around one minute. In each episode, a group of hooligan anthropomorphic cats is causing havoc and trouble in town, but in the end, they are stopped by a titular green cat named Kaboom who triggers a chain of events that hold back bad cats by using a red button.
Reception
The show has received a negative reception among viewers claiming it was unfunny. The official KARTONY 4FUNTV YouTube channel uploads have dominant dislikes to likes ratios. It was one of the most criticized shows from the Kartony block.
Availability
At least 34 episodes were aired. An archived capture of the now defunct website kreskowka.pl lists 29 episodes of the show[3]. On the mentioned site, there were links to each listed episode. However, now they are dead. As of now, only 15 episodes of the show are available. Seven of them were uploaded on the official KARTONY 4FUNTV YouTube channel.
