Les Aventures de Colargol is a stop-motion animated television series created by the French animation studio Procidis, led by Albert Barillé, and the Polish animation studio Se-ma-for. The series was produced between 1968 and 1974[1] and consisted of 53 episodes. It then aired on the French broadcaster ORTF from November 9, 1970 to January 31, 1974. The series was also dubbed into English and aired on the BBC in April 1973 as Barnaby, and later in Canada as Jeremy the Bear.

The series was imported to Japan and aired in Japanese dubbed on TBS as Koraru no Tanken (コラルの探検, "The Explore of the Koraru") from April 7, 1979 to March 29, 1980. In Japan, the original theme song was produced by Zack Promotion and Nippon Columbia, and the opening and closing sequences were produced by Tatsunoko Production.

Availability

As of 2024, the opening and closing sequences produced by Tatsunoko Production is not available online. The series was re-aired on NHK-BS2 in 1990, but due to rights reasons, the Tatsunoko produced sequence was not used along with the Japanese theme song. The footage may be stored in the archives of TBS or Tatsunoko Production, but it is unlikely to be re-released due to the relationship with the rights holder of Colargol.
