Mark Anthony (Las aventuras de Marco Antonio in Spanish) is a 2008 comedy-adventure Spanish animated series based on the 1993 comic series by Mique Beltrán for publisher Glénat. The show was produced by MSL Group, and Co-produced by TVE, Agogo Studios, Full Action and Radiotelevisió Valenciana, airing on channels such as Clan TVE, La 2, and Canal9. The series ran until 2010 with 26 episodes under a 26 minute runtime.[1]
Premise
The series is about the titular character who is a mischievous 9-year-old boy, the son of the famous actress Cleopatra (A character from Beltráns previous work), due to his mother being busy he is usually taken care of by his guardian Aunt Gutanda. Mark Anthony has the power to use telekinesis, and uses it to his advantage when he goes on quests with his friends.[2]
Not to be confused or connected to Marc Antony and Pussyfoot from Looney Tunes, or the songwriter of the same name.
Availability
There is limited info about the show and comics online as the comics only had four volumes. The whole series is readily available to watch on YouTube from the official MSL Group account, and on the RTVE Play in the original language it was produced in.
An English dub was produced under the name Mark Anthony, despite the comics never being localized in English-speaking territories. However there is no information on the dub, and itis unknown if it aired on television in any English-speaking territories, nor is it available on any official home media releases or streaming services.
YouTuber MIXXPOST has uploaded six episodes of its dub onto YouTube, and it’s possible he can upload the rest of the series in the future.
