One Piece'is an anime based off of the manga of the same name. The first episode in Japan aired in 1999. Seeing the popularity of One Piece and wanting to cash in on the growing appeal anime in the West, American licensing company 4kids Entertainment sought to bring over One Piece to an English speaking audience.

Initial Run

On September 18, 2004, the first English dub episode of One Piece aired on FoxBox block on The WB (now the CW) in the US, Cartoon Network in the US and UK, YTV in Canada, and SABC 2 in South Africa. The 4kids dub also started to air on Cartoon Network in 2007. Many fans started to take note of the drastic changes that occurred with the 4kids dub of One Piece. Much of the key plot points, plot devices, and violence were toned down in order to appeal to a younger demographic. On December 6, 2006, Anime News Network reported that 4kids Entertainment would not continue to dub future episodes of One Piece. Only 104 episodes were dubbed by 4kids, but only 78 episodes aired. These episodes spanned seasons 1-5, but many episodes were never dubbed in the first place. The last time the 4kids dubbed aired was on March 15, 2008, on Cartoon Network. That same year, Cartoon Network stopped airing the 4kids dub. No reruns of the 4kids dub were aired after 2008 as Funimation Entertainment acquired the rights for One Piece and redubbed all of the episodes to fit the show's more mature theme.

Reemergence

On February 10th, 2016, Alone and anonymously sourced torrent was placed on the Anime Torrent site Nyaa.se, featuring every episode of the One Piece 4kids dub. Said torrent was discovered by Lost Media Wiki user MustacheDuctTape on April 29th, 2016. Most of Season 1 is ripped from airings on YTV Canada, and the rest of the dub is ripped directly from the initial UK Toonami airings. The torrent's contents were mirrored on MEGA and can be found at the link below. The Nyaa.se torrent link can be found below.

Odex is the only lost bad English dub one left to now good job finding full episodes of that one. Funimation the entire series is found so not rare or lost but it too is bad as the only true great one is the subbed either the fan subbed or officially subbed at episode 100 onwards for a while before going back to fansubs again ones.

The deep voices are good and fit whats going on in the scenes at the same time in the Japanese one and don't sound forced and bad like on the 3 english ones.

I still wouldn't want Odex or 4Kids to be completely lost though as even pure badness or so bad it's great versions need to be rescued and perserved as a bit of the history of the heritige of the show.

Eh, I actually had no problem with the voices in the 4Kids dub (except for Sanji)....it was the censoring which got me.

4Kids basically ruined every good anime here's a list of the anime that they ruined:Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto,Yugioh, and Sonic X! The only good dub that they made was Pokemon

They have never had any involvement with Naruto. Outside of the CW4Kids/Toonzai broadcast of Dragon Ball Z Kai, they never had anything to do with Dragon Ball either.

You’d never seen a 4kids dub before that, right? I remember the 4kids Naruto, and when I compared it to the actual Naruto I was so lost.

@ArcOfRuin 4Kids never dubbed Naruto and the English dubs that exist are all faithful and any edits were exclusive to the TV version ...
