'''''Paper Mario: Sticker Star''''' is an action-adventure role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS and is the fourth title in the Paper Mario series. It was first released in North America on November 11, 2012, and in Japan on December 6, 2012. The game became controversial after its release due to the quality of play and other factors. It was also not well-liked by many Paper Mario fanbases and is known to be infamous.

==Overview==
The first pre-release of this game was at E3 2010. The trailer is played on a 3DS system and was recorded by Nintendo World Report. However, the footage cannot be viewed in its entirety, as it was filmed far away from the console, with only 14 seconds of video. The game shown in the trailer is a pre-release and therefore differs in some respects from the final build. For example, Wiggler is featured as an obstacle in a stage that appears to be World 3, and Chain Chomp is shown as Mario's partner as they break through a long line of brick blocks.

The only early trailer-related material currently available online is a recorded video posted on the Nintendo World Report website,<ref>[https://nintendoworldreport.com/news/23500/3ds-mario-games-in-motion NWR article with footage of the 3DS ''Paper Mario'' trailer.] Retrieved 19 Nov '23</ref> the full trailer audio, and 10 screenshots. Because the complete audio exists, it was expected that the trailer would exist online. However, according to YouTuber ''reecee'', who is participating in the search for the trailer, he was told by NWR officials who joined his Discord server that the audio in the trailer was actually recorded on the show floor using a headphone jack.<ref>[https://forums.lostmediawiki.com/post/64533/thread A mentioned by reecee in a LMW forum thread about the trailer.] Retrieved 19 Nov '23</ref> Thus, the complete trailer does not exist online, meaning that NWR does not own the video either.
