Pitstop II was a racing game developed by Dennis Caswell and Stephen Landrum, and published in 1984 by the company Epyx. It was originally released on several home computers such as the Commodore 64 and the Apple II.

A Famicom/NES conversion was mentioned in the March 1986 issue of Famimaga alongside Great Sword Man and The Fairyland Story, both also unreleased. The port had been developed by the company Pony Canyon and scheduled for release in April of that year. It is unclear why it was cancelled.

Gameplay

The game would have likely played similarly to the home computer versions, a racing game where the player would have had to pull over into a pitstop every so often to change tires and refuel, adding realism to the game. The game also likely would have featured a 2-player mode with split-screen, making one of the earliest examples of split-screen on an 8-bit system.
