Sayonara Eiga (さようなら映画, translated to Goodbye Movie, refered to also as Good-bye, Movies) is a Japanese film directed by Natsuko Otsuki. Described as a semi-documentary, it has a 34-minute runtime and focuses on Otsuki (the director) as she deals with her mother's death as well as her double romantic life with her boyfriend and seducer. The film received the Grand Prix at the 1995 PIA Film Festival.[1]


Availability

The film had its debut in 1995, with another screening in 1997 for Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, this screening including a pamphlet regarding the directors and movies in the festival with unique stills from the movie. No known home media releases were announced or found. Other noted mentions of this film include the italian book "la coscienza luccicante dalla videoarte all'arte interattiva" (pg 208-209)[2]
