History

In 2012, it was announced that an animated series was in development that would be produced by CCI Entertainment and Evolution. Plans were made to distribute the series globally, with merchandise, and multi-platform content. The series would have been unveiled at a licensing expo. The animated series was planned to be released in 2014, while merchandise would have released in the fall of the same year. [1]

Availability

The book would be officially released by Random House in 2013. However, nothing has come of the animated series or any merchandise of it. That same year, CCI Entertainment would be bought by 9 Story Media Group Inc. [2]

Twelve years after the announcement, the status of the show is currently unknown. It's presumed that it's still in development hell, or was quietly canceled. A video of the storyboards from the animated series can be viewed on Michael Paraskevas website. He updated his website in 2023, which reveals that Saban and Warner Bros also owns the rights to the animated series now.
