The Three Friends and Jerry (Swedish: De tre vännerna och Jerry) is an animated series produced by Happy Life and TV Loonland in association with Nickelodeon in the UK and Germany that ran from 1998 to 1999, it was created by Magnus Carlsson.[1][2]
History
The series initially was thought of when Magnus drew 4 young boys with long foreheads (who later go on, to be Frank, Thomas, Eric & Jerry), being inspired by the film "Coneheads". He later made a short pilot of the characters getting into trouble for drinking beer, after an unsuccessful pitch to Comedy Central, he later made the show more family-friendly, and it ended up getting picked up by SVT in Sweden.[3]
The show aired in English on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons in the UK and Australia,[4] YTV in Canada,[5] and Fox Family and Sprout in the United States.[6][7]
Availability
While most of the series is available online (with the show formerly being on SF Kids in Scandinavia), some episodes are still missing in Swedish and English.
The show was released on VHS (in Sweden only) and DVD in the UK, Australia and Sweden.
A clip of "Forbidden Fruit" was uploaded by the show's X-Sheet director, Zoltan Szalay, when asked if he had any of the missing episodes, he said he once had VHS tapes of them but has since lost them.
