The Powerpuff Girls, (alternatively titled PowerPuff), was a highly anticipated superhero action show that would premiere on the CW channel during the early 2020s, a pilot was made for a live-action show that reimagines the CN beloved cartoon about a trio of girls who are superheroes, Craig McCracken's Powerpuff Girls, this time updated for young adult audiences with plotlines that resemble adult HBO shows such as Lena Dunham's Girls it was show to test audiences and got quickly cancelled after severe blackash from the test audiences.
Premise
According to Variety, unlike the previous animated interactions of the franchise that was targeted toward kids, the new series sees the raunch and crude slice of life of the pint-sized superheroes as disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever? [1]
Availability
As far as we know, a fully scripted and filmed pilot was made and shown to test audiences.[2] Though two full screenplays of the pilot (from January 18th and February 9th, 2021) can be found online, the fully shot pilot has never been officially released, and likely never will due to the backlash.[3]
