Scars on Broadway (currently known as Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway) is an American rock rock band started by Daron Malakian in 2002. Malakian had met Casey Chaos, singer in Amen, during Big Day Out in January 2002. They met again in September of that year and decided to start recording music together. In December 2002 the drummer Zach Hill joined the band, who called themselves Scars on Broadway.[1]

In December 2002 the trio recorded a few songs together, including "The Prettiest Thing", "B.Y.O.B.", "Animal", "Matter of Fact", and "Somebody Get Me a Shotgun".[1] These were later leaked online on what is known as Ghetto Blaster Rehearsals.[2]. A few months later (sometime during or prior to May 2003) Scars on Broadway went into the studio Undercity Recordings in North Hollywood, California. They recorded a few songs there as well,[1] but the songs have not been confirmed and are therefore unknown. It could potentially be the same songs as on Ghetto Blaster Rehearsals. The songs recorded at Undercity Recordings have not resurfaced and the studio was permanently shut down during the 2010s, perhaps making the recordings lost forever.
