E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is one of the highest-grossing films of all-time and is often considered to be one of the greatest films ever made.
The film had several deleted scenes from it. However, nearly all of these scenes (most notably a scene involving a cameo by Harrison Ford) have been shown to the public via the film's various home media releases and 2002 theatrical reissue.
Description
The scene would have occurred after Mary (Dee Wallace) reads Peter Pan to Gertie (Drew Barrymore) and E.T. heals Elliott (Henry Thomas). In it, E.T. (wearing a bathrobe) observes Mary sleeping on a bed naked. He would then place Reese's Pieces on her pillow.[1]
Availability
Until 2012, it was unknown if the scene was even filmed. That year, two still images (one of the actual scene, another between takes) were released in a commemorative book. The only information that was given was that they were deleted from the final cut.
