Taffy Saltwater was going to be an animated series based on the 2013 book of the same name by Michael Paraskevas the co-creator of Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse, Kids from Room 402, Green Monkeys and is the son and creative partner of the late writer Betty Paraskevas. Produced by Canadian indie company CCI Entertainment and Evolution.[1] The series is about Taffy Saltwater, a high-spirited little girl whose goal is to build the biggest sandcastle on the beach with her friends when one of her friends an anthropomorphic beach ball Rollo flies off when he holds onto an umbrella. Now it is up to Taffy and her friends to rescue him. [1]

In 2012, it was announced that an animated series was in development that would be produced by CCI Entertainment and Evolution. Plans of distributing the series globally, release merchandise, and multi-platform content. The series would have been unveiled at a licensing expo. The animated series was planned to be released in 2014, with merchandise being released in the fall of that same year. [1]
