Daniel Warren-Biers, better known online as Troydan, is a Canadian YouTuber well known for his NBA 2K videos. He was widely known for his love of the Los Angeles Lakers, an NBA team that he grew up watching. Kobe Bryant, one of the most well-known basketball players of all time and Basketball Hall of Famer was his favorite player, as mentioned in multiple videos where Troydan would spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars trying to pull a Kobe Bryant card in multiple NBA 2K games.[1]

Crash and Livestream

On January 26th, 2020, Kobe Bryant as well as his daughter and 7 others were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. Troydan was on vacation at the time, and went live from his phone, reading the news articles and reports as they were coming out in real time. Troydan was emotional and shaken during the livestream, as thousands watched, and millions of people after the stream ended, showing their support. The livestream was ended after 2 hours, 35 minutes, when most of the reports were confirmed, but the livestream was saved in a replayable and watchable state.[2] The title of the livestream was changed from "Kobe Bryant confirmed dead. I cant believe this" to "Goodbye Kobe". After being up on the channel for a couple days after, the video was privated. The livestream has had no complete reuploads or downloads found, and only 2 clips recorded on the day of the livestream were posted. As of right now, most of the stream is completely unfindable. The video was not backuped on the Wayback Machine as well, leaving a massive hole in the history of Troydans channel.

On January 3rd, 2022, Lost Media Wiki user LoganTheHammer discovered that the livestream had been listed as public and was fully viewable once more on Troydan’s channel. It is unsure what caused the video to be set as public, and if it will ever be privated again.
