680 Home Appliances is a Filipino appliance store established on August 28th, 1968, at 680 Rizal Avenue, Sta Cruz., Manila.[1] Throughout the years, the store had a downfall and only a few branches are opened today. However, commercials were made in their early years. Known commercials are the early 1980s version with Bert Marcelo dressed like a sultan that is available on the internet and a commercial, said to be creepy was aired in the 1990s.

Info

The commercial starts off on a black background with a mechanism of an electric fan, then zooms into a gear that moves, a gas stove, and a finished Standard electric fan. Then, an evolution of the 680 Home Appliances logo happened, hands shaking, appliances displayed, family shopping together with appliances shown and a girl walked and jumped. It then fades to the 680 logo moving position with a "Kliiing!" piano sound and after it pauses a second, in a black background with the logo on the top and the slogan, "Serving you for more than 25 years."[2]

The said commercial has an ominous humming choir music and a creepy voiceover. According to eyewitnesses, it is also said to be there's a scene where appliances are being formed and a tagline "We Build Our Name", while some said there's a creepy laugh. The voiceover, according to the eyewitnesses, also said the lines of "680 Quality Products, 680 More Affordable Appliances" and "Why don't you shop around with your friends..." A revised variant was aired in the early 2000s during Better Home Ideas in RPN-9 that improved the logo and removed the gift wrap.

Availability

It was said to be aired on RPN-9 during One Million Dollar Chance of a Lifetime, Better Home Ideas, Battle of the Brains, The Doctor Is In and Goggle Five (where it is said to be aired along with Anzahl Urethane Car Paints, Mediplast Plaster Strips, RA Homevision, and Cord Epoxy) IBC-13 during Maskman, Masked Rider Black, Machineman[3] and PTV-4 during Motoring Today, Auto-Focus, Fun with Math, and Saturday Spectacular Specials (said to be aired along with a Durastar and 3D Electric Fan commercial). It was also aired in ABS-CBN. The commercial was said to be seen in the early 1990s-2000s specifically 1991, 1993-1995, and for the last time in 2000.[4][5]
