It was a spin-off of "Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night",  a pseudosequel of Disney's Pinochio for the brand  "Filmation's New Classics Collection" of a specific model of animated mockbusters that consisted on sequels of Public Domain histories, mostly ones that disney had already adapted upon.
