East of the Sun and West of the Moon was a planned film adaptation of the Norwegian fairy tale of the same name that was to be made by Don Bluth.
Premise
Don Bluth's version of East of the Sun and West of the Moon was going to be set in the futuristic world of 2020. It would have starred a young boy and a young girl. The girl would have found the boy (who is later discovered to be from another planet), which cause other people to discover the boy and put him to death in the land East of the Sun and West of the Moon. The girl then must go on a journey to rescue the young boy.[1] The film would have explored many locations, such as the underwater city of Atlantis, and the East of the Sun and West of the Moon from the perspective of the North Wind.
