From 2006[1] (or 2005[2]) until 2014, GMA Network made several short films for the Christmas season. These short films were co-produced by several sponsors each year, and each has an uplifting and moral message for Christmas. They are aired during commercial breaks of GMA Network and its sister channel QTV-11 (which eventually became GMA News TV in 2011)

A lot of the short films, most in its early years, are lost. It used to be seen online in GMA’s website but it was deleted. Other short films survived and are now uploaded on YouTube. A project asw undertaken by Philippine Television Archives to find more short films and archive them.[3]

Regarding the unconfirmed 2005 and 2009 festivals

There is a contradiction in GMA's sources regarding the starting year of the festival, with one page stating it began in 2005 and another claiming it started in 2006. If it exists, there is no footage of any short film from that year.[1][2]

There is also a discrepancy in the information regarding the start year of the said festival and the labeling of years 6, 7, 8, and 9 in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, respectively. The festival is said to have started in 2006, so the years should be labeled as 5, 6, 7, and 8, instead of 6, 7, 8, and 9 as indicated. It is safe to say that this was an error by GMA themselves, as a director pointed out that the 2006 film festival is their pioneer venture on short films[8], however this was not still confirmed by GMA themselves.

There is no evidence of a 2009 festival, so it is safe to say the festival didn't happen in that year.
